One of the most important aspects of this study will be the ability to communicate the critical role that freight transportation plays in determining the region's economic competitiveness. Linking freight to the economic well-being of the region and state is the key. This will help answer the questions of "What do I get for my investment?" and "How do I pay for it?" More importantly, it can demonstrate the cost of doing nothing. This task will quantify the important role of freight and logistics to the regional economy and demonstrate the potential economic benefits associated with facilitating efficient freight mobility.
