MARC Application

Applications for the 2012-2013 class are due by April 23, 2012. 

Application checklist:

  1. Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.   Mail to address below. Should include class rank and/or grade point average.
  2. Permission and signature of parent of guardian.   Download the Permission Form (PDF), have a parent or guardian sign it and then mail it to the address below.
  3. Essay.   The Atlanta Regional Commission addresses a broad range of issues in the region: traffic congestion, air pollution, water quality and supply, protection of green space, growth management, job training and services for senior citizens. If you are selected to participate in the Model Atlanta Regional Commission, you will learn about and develop proposals to address these and other issues that contribute to the overall quality of life in the Atlanta region. Write an essay explaining:

    • What regional issue or issues interest you the most and why?
    • What strengths and experiences you can contribute to helping solve regional challenges.
    • Essay should be no more than 3 pages, double spaced.
    • Upload your essay when you fill out the online application below.

      NOTE:  Be sure to include your name in the file name - example: marc_essay_john_smith.doc

  4. Completed application.   Fill out the online application below.
