Learn the ABCs of Tax Allocation Districts

Who: The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), the official planning agency for the 10-county Atlanta region.
What: ARC’s Community Planning Academy, a program that offers high-quality and cost-effective training to appointed citizen planners, local elected officials and local government employees, has a few spots remaining in its upcoming class. “The ABCs of TADs: Myths, Facts and Practical Application” explores one of the most widely-used forms of development financing – tax allocation districts (TAD). Topics covered during the day-long session include a legal and practical overview of TADs, how to create them, the roles of different players in TAD financing and a panel discussion featuring case studies from across Georgia.
The Community Planning Academy session is geared toward local government officials, school board members, planning and economic development staff and developers. The cost is $100.
When: April 24, 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Registration deadline is April 13.
