Diverse Group of Leaders Sought for Regional Leadership Institute

Who: Anyone who aspires to be an effective leader in the Atlanta region.
What: Applications are now being accepted for the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute, a comprehensive program designed to better prepare a diverse group of civic, government, business and nonprofit leaders to work collaboratively in addressing regional issues.
About five-dozen community leaders will come together for an intensive six-day session in September to learn about regional planning, problem-solving and community building. National and regional experts address diverse topics, including ingredients of a successful region, community collaboration, transportation, land use, economic and social trends.
Class members are selected based on demonstrated leadership in the community. The selection process maximizes diversity in gender, race, ethnicity, occupational affiliation and geography to achieve accurate representation of the region.
When: Application deadline is April 27. The class is held Sept. 16-21.
Where: King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, St. Simons Island, Ga.
