For 60 years, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and its predecessor agencies have worked to plan and lead efforts to insure a green and sustainable Atlanta region. As the official planning agency for the 10-county Atlanta metro area, ARC works to promote sustainable land use and community design practices, encourage water conservation and protect the Chattahoochee River and smaller streams, improve air quality, provide commuting options like carpooling and plan for more greenspace and parks that we can all enjoy.
