Atlanta Regional Goals for Today…Indicators of Tomorrow
In 2002, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government conducted a statistically significant survey that wove together the ideas and insights of residents in the Atlanta region to create the region’s Platforms for Progress. The 22 goals that resulted form the survey encompass five areas of focus:
Community Building & Involvement Regional Prosperity & Economic Development Educational Excellence Air Quality Transportation Environmental sustainability
To summarize, the survey’s findings communicate residents’ goals clearly, we have organized the results under a simple slogan: CREATE Community.
Specific indicators have been selected to measure the movement toward these goals. To see how much progress the region has made toward achieving its goals click on the Links below.
In addition to tracking the regions’ progress toward achieving goals. The CREATE Community award recognizes local government excellence in each of the five focus areas.
