7:30 a.m. Breakfast & Program

The Atlanta Regional Commission will hold its annual “State of the Region” breakfast on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Atlanta.  This year’s breakfast for key elected officials, business and civic leaders will provide a status report on our region today and look ahead to the next half century and our future possibilities.

The event will serve as part of ARC’s Fifty Forward series of future forums and will focus on globalization and megaregions, and how we might cooperate more closely with other metro areas to thrive globally. Keynote speaker is Vincent Goodstadt of the UK, head of European Relations for the METREX Network of European Metropolitan Regions. He is also advisor to the UK Government’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, as well as the Academy for Sustainable Communities.

The 10th annual Developments of Excellence Awards will be presented by ARC and the Livable Communities Coalition, honoring outstanding new developments in the region that are setting the standard for livable, quality growth.

We invite you to join 1,000 of region’s leaders for this annual event to focus on the future success of the Atlanta region.
