GIS Training
The Atlanta Regional Commission's (ARC) GIS Division currently offers training in the use of Electronic Field Study™ (EFS) software and oblique imagery from Pictometry International. This training is available to all local government personnel within our 10-county region through their county GIS coordinators. The EFS™ software is very useful for viewing geographic information on top of the Pictometry® oblique imagery, but it is not a true Geographic Information System. In order to have full-querying, analysis and modeling capability, ARC uses the ESRI® suite of GIS software such as ArcGIS®, ArcView® and ArcIMS®. Although ARC no longer hosts ESRI classes for this software on a regular basis, we still maintain a training center that can be used for 3rd party GIS training. For additional information on our training facility, please contact us at 404.463.3100. ESRI now conducts training at their own facility in north Fulton County.
