On-Board Transit Survey

The On-Board Transit Survey was conducted from 2001 to 2002 among transit riders of the region’s then four transit operators:

1. Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)
2. Cobb Community Transit (CCT)
3. Clayton County Transit (C-TRAN)
4. Gwinnett County Transit

Survey collection parameters entailed origin and destination data, demographics (including household size, vehicle availability), access and egress modes, and public transit use.

The Regional On-Board Transit Survey was conducted concurrently with the regional Household Travel Survey (HTS) (PDF) providing critical information on travel patterns, demographics, transportation options, and mode choice for transit riders of the 13-county Atlanta region.

A database was developed by integrating ArcGIS 8.1 and Microsoft Access focused on displaying data by selected categories (route, time-of-day, etc.) and by output type (queries, tables, etc.).
