Study recommendations include:

  • Moving all express bus service off Peachtree Street, help to protect the character and pedestrian environment within the Peachtree Street corridor in downtown and Midtown Two-way bus service on West Peachtree Street through the use of a contra-flow lane
  • Two-way bus service on Peachtree Center Avenue by either converting the road to two-way traffic or through the use of a contra-flow lane
  • Forming a "Green Light" team to guide implementation efforts

With the completion of the study, the initiative now moves forward with a "Green Light" Implementation Team made up of a smaller group of stakeholders and traffic planners to develop a more detailed plan of action.ARC's Downtown/Midtown Atlanta Bus Circulation Study - The six-month study produced a number of recommendations for improving bus routing and pedestrian accessability by providing a clear and coordinated bus routing and layover plan in downtown and midtown Atlanta.
