Fulton County

Fulton County was created out of the western half of DeKalb County in 1853. Later, in 1932, due to financial concerns stemming from the Great Depression, Milton (to the north) and Campbell (to the south) merged into Fulton. According to 2008 Census estimates, it is the most populous county in Georgia. At 529 square miles, Fulton ranks 21st (out of 159) in the state in area and is the largest in the 10-county region.
