In 1821, Henry County was created out of Creek Indian lands and is named after Revolutionary War great Patrick Henry. According to 2008 Census estimates, it is the 9th most populous county in Georgia. At 323 square miles, Henry ranks 93rd (out of 159) in the state in area and is the fifth largest in the 10-county region.
