2012 State of the Region Update

ARC's 2012 State of the Region Breakfast

Approximately 1,000 metro Atlanta regional leaders gathered at the Georgia World Congress Center on October 12 for the Atlanta Regional Commission’s 2012 State of the Region Breakfast. These leaders from throughout metro Atlanta celebrated the region’s vibrant Arts & Culture community with a variety of exhibits and performances. They also heard keynote remarks from Bruce Katz of the Brookings Institute, who pointed out some of metro Atlanta’s strengths and told attendees that the region needs to build off these strengths if it is to remain a leader in the new economy. ARC Chairman Tad Leithead challenged everyone in the room to work together for the betterment of metro Atlanta in his State of the Region address. In addition, ARC and the Livable Communities Coalition presented the 2012 Developments of Excellence Awards to six deserving recipients.

Videos of all presentations are available here, as well as all of the printed materials distributed. Thank you again to all the generous sponsors who made this annual event possible!
