Traffic Crash Profiles

Every year, approximately 580 people are killed and 65,000 are injured on roads in the 18 counties around metro Atlanta.  Additionally, it is estimated that more than 50 percent of all congestion in the Atlanta region is a direct result of crashes, known as non-recurring traffic congestion.

tp_ambulanceTo further analyze motor-vehicle related crashes, the ARC is currently in the process of updating its county-level traffic crash profiles. The reports will include information on crashes that have occurred in each of the 18 counties between 2002 and 2008, and will focus on the most recent crashes, specifically 2006-2008. Crash profiles will show crash statistics, trends and hotspots for multiple crash types and sub-categories. The crash types are intended to examine crashes from different perspectives, in order to serve as a tool that stakeholders can utilize to enhance safety on public roads through different programs.

The county crash profile reports will be posted soon on this webpage upon their completion.
