The purpose of the North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan is to provide the foundation and framework for multimodal, multi-jurisdictional infrastructure and policy recommendations across the cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Sandy Springs, Roswell and Mountain Park. Existing conditions were documented and analyzed for low-cost, easily-implemented operational improvements, as well as major investments. Needs and recommendations were examined against vision, goals and objectives criteria. Input of the public and stakeholders was sought throughout the project.  The resulting document, TRIP (Transportation Resources Implementation Program), will guide the accomplishment of this effort.

Project Vision Statement

The North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan’s vision is to develop a functional, reliable and implementable transportation system that:

• Supports economic vitality, environmental responsibility, innovation, and quality of life
• Is designed to achieve safety, connectivity, accessibility, and mobility for users of all modes and support lifelong communities enabling independence as citizens age
• Works cooperatively with the area’s infrastructure and jurisdictional land use policies
• Is developed cooperatively with respect for the preservation of individual jurisdiction’s community character

TRIP Adoption

All six North Fulton cities unanimously approved resolutions adopting the the TRIP (Transportation Resources Implementation Program) in October and November of 2011.

Public Involvement

Two rounds of public charrettes were held in January 2010 and May 2010 to share information with the public and discuss their ideas related to transportation needs and preliminary project recommendations for transportation enhancements in North Fulton County and the surrounding region.
