The Atlanta Regional Workforce Board (ARWB) is responsible for providing policy guidance for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Service Area designated by the Governor representing Cherokee, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties.

* The quarterly meeting of the Atlanta Regional Workforce Board that was scheduled for May 23rd has been cancelled so that the Board may hold a Work Session on Wednesday, May 29th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference facility at 3630 Peachtree Rd., NE, Atlanta, 30326. Members of the State WIB, the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce are expected to discuss House Bill 393, the new State Plan and increasing economic competitiveness in the metro region.

The Atlanta Regional Workforce Board’s Workforce Investment Act plan update for the counties of Cherokee, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties is available. A copy of the plan is available at the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), the administrative and fiscal agent for the Chief Elected Officials of the above counties.
